Sofern von der Umstieg von Windows 7 nach Windows 10 nicht stattfinden soll, gibt es eine Reihe von Patches, die man am besten erst gar nicht installieren sollte, statt sich hinterher mit den Nebenwirkungen herumzuärgern.

Gerade erscheint KB2952664 mal wieder in der Liste der neuen Updates, im Gegensatz zum Januar nun aber als optionales und nicht als empfohlenes Update.

Bei der Gelegenheit kann man dann auch gleich KB3123862 ausblenden, das ebenfalls der Vorbereitung auf Windows 10 dient:

Die RC Mini Cars von Revell sind ein nettes Spielzeug: für einen Preis von unter 10€ im lokalen Spielwarenhandel (oder Discounter) bringen sie Fahrfreude ins heimische Wohnzimmer, wenn auch mit kleinem Haken: die Flitzer sind in der Werksversion so schnell, daß es fast unmöglich ist, Hindernisrennen auf einem Tisch auszutragen oder enge Durchfahrten zu treffen.

Glücklicherweise lässt sich mit etwas Tuning (oder ist das De-Tuning?) Abhilfe schaffen: das Einlöten eines Widerstands (hier 7,5 Ohm) bremst das Fahrzeug auf beherrschbare Geschwindigkeiten und erhöht den Fahrspaß zusätzlich.

Selbstverständlich führt dieser Eingriff zum Erlöschen der Garantie, was sich aber auf Grund des geringen Anschaffungspreises verschmerzbar sein sollte.

Bei den heute als “Wichtig” / “Empfohlene Updates” angebotenen Aktualisierungen war mal wieder KB2952664 mit dabei:

Es ist schier unglaublich, mit welcher Penetranz Microsoft versucht, Windows 10 an den Mann (oder wahlweise die Frau) zu bringen.

Gerade tauchte mal wieder KB3035583 als Update auf, natürlich nicht in der Rubik “Optional”, sondern als “Wichtig"es Update gekennzeichnet. Also denn - the same Procedure as last time: Rechtsklick auf das Update und “ausblenden”.
